Saturday I got to take Hallie's birth mom's engagement pictures. She and her boyfriend, Chris, are getting married in August and asked if I would do their engagements and bridals. I couldn't have been more honored. Jordann is the best birth mom ever (along with Teressa, Abbi's birth mom.) It was lots of fun. We went over to Jeff's work at the Tahitian Noni Garden's. The weather was chilly, but at least the sun was shining. I'm a little rusy, but I think they turned out great. Thanks Jordann and Chris for giving me the opportunity to do these for you. Now That's Beauty!

Last night I made home made cinnamon rolls, which my little sister Kristen and her boyfriend Weston love. I called them and told them what I made and they were right up. They even brought Jeff and me a Coke. Kristen was eating her treat and she had frosting on her chin, it was so funny. I thought to myself, now this is beauty. Seriously how many of us can eat a cinnamon roll and look this cute.

The Zoo

Last Friday, since Abbi was out of school, Jeff took the day off and we headed to the zoo. It was extremly busy. I waited in line for about 30 minutes just to buy tickets, and then another 15 minutes waiting to get into the zoo. You gotta wonder if the Hogle Zoo is worth it. But the kids had fun. Hallie was totally amazed by the monkeys. She LOVED them. Abbi really likes the stinky buldings with all the reptiles in them. She could sit and stare at rats and snakes all day if we would let her.

Hallie was totally scared of the elephants. She kept calling them "monshers" which translates to monsters. We would try to put her down, and she would get really nervous and run to either Jeff or me.

A Little Spring Break Fun

My Friend, Janean, called me tonight wondering if I was okay because I haven't blogged in a long time. I thought that was kind of funny. All is well when there are new posts, right. But seriously, I think I was just so busy last week with it being spring break and everything. Anyway, the kids were bored mid-week (you know when it was 80 on Monday and then snowed on Tuesday/Wednesday) so we headed to the store to find some little crafty project to do. Abbi has tons of cd's and when she found this cute little cd case that she could decorate, she was very excited. She wanted me to make sure and post both the front and the back, 'cause she knew you were all going to want to see it. It holds 25 cd's which she was pretty excited about.

Hallie chose this pink crown that she decorated all by herself. She was hilarious. I tried to convince her that she didn't need to put all the stickers on it, but she wouldn't listen. The dang thing was so heavy by the time she was done, it would barely stand up. You can see how excited she is about it in the pictures.

Cuteness!!!

At the park Sunday afternoon Hallie was being so cute in the field. She had on her cute sundress still from church and was so enthrawled in the flowers. It was a perfect Kodak moment.
The sun was so stinkin' bright (but I'm not complaining) that the pictures aren't the greatest. But with a little editing, I think they look okay.
My two little cuties. I love when I catch pictures like these where they are totally unaware (or don't care) that I'm there snapping pictures of them. I could have sat there for hours watching them explore and pick flowers.

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This

Sunday afternoon was so warm. So after church Jeff, the girls, and I headed over to the park. I was sitting there watching Jeff push the girls in the swings and I got really happy. I was looking around me and decided that I never want to move. Ever. We have such a great neighborhood with lots of kids and great neighbors. We have a school, a park, sportspark, and a bike trail within walking distance from our house. The only thing that is missing is a church, which rumor has it that one will soon be built very near our home (I think it's already in progress.) Not only that, but I am in love with my little family. We have so much fun together and life is really good right now. Not that it has ever not been good, but it just keeps getting better. I have great friends that live pretty close to me. Sadly, we will eventually have to move. This house is just too tiny to hold us forever. But seriously when we do, it won't be far from here. I just can't leave all this goodness.

Has Anyone Seen My 6 Year Old?

...Because last time I checked, she looked much younger than this. All of the sudden Abbi has grown up. I swear she's grown 5 inches from last night and she just has this look about her that screams "teenager!" It makes me really sad because I remember holding this tiny baby when she was first born and thinking there was no way she was ever going to grow-up. Well she has, and she keeps growing. We sure do love this girl.

Let's Go Fly A Kite...

One of the fondest memories that I have of my dad when I was a kid is flying kites. We lived on a street where there was a big field across the street. So we would go to the store and buy a couple of kites and spend a breezy afternoon (well probably only an hour) flying them. So Sunday between conferences we pulled out the kites the kids picked out the day before and went to the soccer field to fly them. It was so much fun and the perfect day to put them up in the air. We had just the right amount of wind.

This is Abbi's kite right before we got it way high in the air. Both Abbi and Hallie thought it was so cool that we could get them as high as the string would allow us.
Jeff and I laughed so hard at Hallie. She would run as fast as her legs would let her. Neither of the girls got that they could stand still and the wind would do the work for them. But who wants to do that, that's boring.

Both girls slept extremely well last night with all that running they did. It was great exercise.

That's It, I'm Throwing-Up!

I mentioned in an earlier post that if it snowed again I was gonna throw-up. Well here goes... I'm throwing up. Seriously it's APRIL!!!

Hurry Up Srping

After all the stupid snow melted last week, Hallie and I had spring fever big time. So we decided to pull out the sidewalk chalk and color some pictures. Hallie really got into it. It was a little cold, but the fresh air was nice. Seriously, if it snows again, I'm going to throw up!

When I asked her what she drew, she said, "It's Dora and Boot's The Monkey." I mean, I don't know how I didn't know that in the first place.
Being home with her all day is so good for both of us. We get lots of one-on-one time together. She's my little buddy.

34 Years Old and Getting Better Every Year

Saturday, April 5th was Jeff's 34th birthday. I went to wrap his present on Friday and realized that I didn't have any birthday wrapping paper. So being thrifty (really being mostly lazy) I got Christmas paper and wrapped it inside out. I was going to just leave it that way, but then Abbi and her friends wanted to color, so I thought it would be a great idea to let them decorate the wrapping paper. They really got into it and it took them about 30 minutes to complete it. Hallie even got in on the action. She thought it would be really fun to decorate the floor as well. Luckily it came off. She then moved on to bigger and better things, like my drawers. It's a good thing she's cute!

Saturday we invited Jeff's and my parents over for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun. Jeff got some horse stuff from his parents, a broom and dustpan for the garage from my mom and dad (hey, it's boring but it was his request.) And the girls and I got him a fire pit to put in the backyard. Happy Birthday, Babe! I love you!!!

Just Doin' Girly Stuff

I love to do girl stuff with Abbi and Hallie. Last Sunday after church (and naps) we decided to do pedicures. It was really fun. The girls totally loved getting their feet all soaked and then rubbed down with lotion.

Abbi has been saying that her feet hurt (new shoes will do that to ya.) She said they felt much better after the pedicure. Hallie loved all the bubbles we used in the foot soak. She was so funny putting her little piggies in the water. She thought it was really cool.
I sure do love these two cuties.

Easter Sunday

I just realized that I never posted about Easter morning at our house. It was really fun. Mr. E. Bunny himself visited our home and left a treasure hunt for the girls. He made a cute little poem and had the girls running all around the house finding little gifts left for them. My favorite part of the poem was: "Your good friend E. Bunny has left you some money. You think I'm a liar? Go look in the dryer!" The big finale was left by the t.v. It was blankets for their bedroom and a bunch of candy and some matching butterfly necklaces.

Abbi was pretty excited about the $5 the bunny left, Hallie was more interested in the candy. She ate it just about as fast as she found it.
