Pretty Blue Eyes
Lacie has the most beautiful blue eyes. They are shaped just like Jeff's and are the color of Grandpa Roger's. She has super long eyelashes that curl upwards. I hope they keep their light blue color.
Let Me Call You Sweetheart
I used to hate with a capitol H Valentines Day. The only reason being that it's so hard to go out anywhere on that particular day because everywhere has a 2 or more hour wait. And not to mention finding a babysitter. So a few years ago, Jeff and I decided that we would spend the day with our "little" Valentines as well as each other. I always make a candlelight dinner and do something fun for dinner. Sometimes I order take-out, sometimes I make something. This year I decided to make home made pancakes in the shape of a heart. I had a final thought to color them red and the kids LOVED them. They thought they were so cute and they were really easy (and cheap) to make.
I also opted for ease rather than stress myself out coming up with an idea and making Valentines Day cards. I got these off of eighteen25.blogspot.com/ and they were a hit. All I had to do was insert the girls' pictures and I was done. I even added their name in the corner so all we had to do was stuff them in an envelope. We included a fun dip in ours and off they went to school.
I've had lots of fun with this Valentines Day. I added just a few little "hearty" touches to my home and it's been a really fun month.

She's Here! She's Here! She's Finally Here.
Hallie has been wanting an American Girl doll for quite some time. Santa Claus tried to bring the Target knock-off which worked for a while, but within a week, her hair was matted and really gross. It was sad... and also a long story that led to Jeff and I deciding to give in and get her the real deal. Don't judge. :)
Anyway, we let her pick out which one she wanted and she chose Kanani which is the girl of the year for 2011. When she finally came in the mail, Hallie was SO excited.
It was all I could do to get Kanani out of her packaging quick enough. I thought it was really cute that Abbi and Hallie showed as much excitement as Hallie did.
Hallie has loved adored her American Girl doll from the minute she got her and it was well worth the extra money we had to fork over for her.
I will say this for American Girl. Even though they are pricey ($100 just for the doll and the outfit she comes in) they are worth the money. The Target knock-off was about $40 and I'm not lying when I say her hair was a mess within a week. A knotted ratted mess that was un-combable. The real American Girl has been loved and her hair has been brushed a LOT and still looks great. The clothes really aren't that much more expensive than the Target ones, and the Target ones actually fit American Girl. Anyway, all of that being said, if you are in the market for a doll like this, don't make Santa's mistake and just splurge for the real thing.

Cookie Monsters
So, not to brag or anything, but my chocolate chip cookies are DA BOMB.COM. I have been making them since I was about 10 years old. My dad would call me from work and tell me to make him some cookies. I've played around with different recipes before, but I always come back to the same one. I've pretty much perfected them by trying different brands of ingredients and tweeking the recipe a little.
I love making cookies, especially with my little helpers in the kitchen with me.
And Don't Forget This Little Cutie...
Abbi is really into picking out her own clothes and choosing how she wants her hair. Most of the time she will lay her clothes out at night so they are all ready for the morning. She also is very particular about how her hair is done each day. This is her favorite way to have it done. Lucky for me, it's one of the easier hair do's to do. I round brush it the day before for school and then the next day we pull out the flat iron and curl it up. It stays really well and looks super cute...
But it's easy to make her hair look super cute when she is supercute herself!

Get Yo Dance On!
It's always a party when one of our birthmom's comes to visit. Teressa came to see Abbi a few weeks ago and they put in Just Dance 2 and danced the afternoon away. I loved watching them have so much fun together.

Lacie Bug
Haha, did you know there really is such a thing as a Lacey Bug? My good friend Chelsey said there is a book by that name. I think I must get it. Abbi found my ginormous sunglasses laying around and decided to try them on our little Lace. I thought she looked so funny. Just like a bug, hence her nickname: Lacie Bug.

A Big Boy Bed
Jeff and I have been dreading putting Korver in a big boy bed. Mostly because that would mean he could get in and out of bed at his leisure which we weren't sure we were ready for. But when he took a nose dive out of his crib and got his foot caught in the slats, we decided it was time.
We had the bed from the bunk beds that the girls had in their shared room in our old house. The bed is perfect since it has removable rails on both sides to keep him from falling out. It used to be white and looked a little too "girly" for our liking so we spray painted it red to match the decor' he has in his room.
I picked his bedspread up at Target (gotta love that place) to complete the look. We love the way it turned out and Korver does too. We were really worried about him not staying in it at night, but we only had to get after him a few times and now he stays there all night long.
While it makes us a little sad that Korv is out of his crib and in a big boy bed, we know he loves it and that makes it worth it.
Beautiful Girl
Abbi had her first of many dance performances last weekend. I gotta say, this picture kind of freaks me out a little bit. She looks so grown up! She did such a great job and looked really cute in her sailor costume.

Getting Beautified!
Hallie went to a birthday party and came home with her very own pack of make-up. She was so excited and asked if she could give me a makeover. Of course I said YES!!! Who wouldn't want their make-up done by a creative 5 year old?
Hallie took her time and I have to admit, it was quite relaxing laying down on the floor while she was making me pretty.
I think the final result is FABULOUS, don't you?
